AUBURN — A local man was arrested Sunday on drug, robbery and other charges after a search of his home, according to Auburn police.

Ryan Jolicoeur, 38, of 92 Fifth St. was arrested at his residence and charged with aggravated drug trafficking, robbery, theft and assault, according to a police department news release issued Monday.

Officers had been conducting a long-term investigation into an alleged drug trafficking operation at the home. The investigation suggested Jolicoeur was selling large quantities of marijuana to a customer base that included juveniles, the release said.

On Sunday a juvenile male reported to police that he was walking in New Auburn when Jolicoeur pulled over, got out of his vehicle, threatened him and took his sweatshirt, phone and shoes before taking off. He said Jolicoeur came back minutes later and assaulted him over a past drug transaction, according to the news release.

Officers with the department’s Proactive Community Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at Jolicoeur’s residence, where they discovered over 20 pounds of marijuana, marijuana products, scales and about $1,600 in suspected drug proceeds. Officers also seized several of Jolicoeur’s vehicles, the release said.

Jolicoeur faces the aggravated drug charge because of the amount of marijuana and proximity to a park designated as a safe zone by the Auburn City Council.

Jolicoeur was booked at Androscoggin County Jail and has since been released on $10,000 cash bail.
