BRIDGTON — The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary is set to host its 15th annual Golf Classic on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Bridgton Highlands County Club at 379 Highland Road.

This event is the club’s biggest fundraiser each year and allows them to do the work they love to do in the community, including college scholarships, early childhood literacy programs, support to veterans and local food pantries, Little Free Libraries, Community Kettles at the Bridgton Community Center and holiday gifts and clothing to children in need and more, according to a news release from the rotary.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for participants and there will be prizes for the first-place foursomes, men, women and mixed teams. The longest drive and closest to the pin for both men and women players are acknowledged. This year, participating golfers can take their best shot in the Hole-in-One contest and win a $10,000 vacation or the cash.

Laura Paldino, co-chair of the Golf Committee, said, “We are excited to announce the upcoming event and look forward to welcoming our sponsors and golfers alike. So far Coleman Industries; Dyer Septic; Long Lake Marine and Norway Savings Bank are on board at the Platinum level. Clement Brothers and Dirty Bristles have signed on for the Gold. Henry’s Concrete, McIver Electric, and Southern Maine Retirement Services have opted in at the Silver level. Beth’s Kitchen, Hastings Law Office, Jones & Mathews, Loon Echo Land Trust, The Rufus Porter Museum and Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival are Bronze Sponsors. Many others have expressed interest and will join us as well.”

For sponsorship questions call Paldino at mobile 480-390-9008.

“If you have a project and you’re looking for resources to implement it, contact your local Rotary Club,” said Lisa Ryan, who will be president of Bridgton Rotary for the next two years. “We may be as interested in such a project as well.”

Sponsorship at the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze levels are being offered with details at lakeregionrotary.com or by emailing [email protected].
