FARMINGTON — The Farmington Public Library plans to facilitate an art excursion tailored for teens at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Emery Art Center at 117 Academy St.
The focus of this excursion is to visit the center and explore the exhibit “The Thinking Hands.” All who wish to join should meet at 3:30 p.m. at the Farmington Public Library. The group will then walk to the center. Light refreshments and snacks will be available and participants are encouraged to stay and have discourse about the art display, according to a news release from Vanessa Mosher with the library.
An additional teen art opportunity with the library is the bookmark making contest. The competition will be for ages 10-17 and blank bookmarks for interested participants can be picked up at the library. The completed bookmarks need to be returned by Saturday, Aug. 31. The winning bookmark will be duplicated and handed out to library patrons.
