I write in support of Joan Beal and her quest for the District 81 seat in the Maine House.
Having known Joan for 10 years, and during that time served with her on boards and committees in Norway, I am enthusiastic that she is running because I’ve seen her energy and passion. She has an inquisitive mind, indicative of the teacher she once was, and her concern for friends, neighbors and community colors everything she says and does.
In her modest manner, she’ll tell people that she is not particularly talented or skilled, but that she just “shows up,” proving the old saying about achieving success. That is called diligence.
I encourage voters to learn more about Joan’s positions, and then help send her to Augusta on Nov. 5.
