Brent V. Libby
AUBURN – Brent V. Libby, 62, of Turner, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Andwell Hospice with his family by his side, after a long heroic battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 11, 1962, in Lewiston, the son of Roger “Toot” Libby and Robena (Bragdon) Gordon.
Brent was a 1980 graduate of Leavitt Area High School. Following high school, Brent moved to Panama City Beach, Fla., where he enjoyed 30 years of living life to the fullest. He loved his job working as a bartender, meeting a wide variety of people, many who became his lifelong friends. After moving back to Maine due to his cancer, he worked for the United States Postal Service in Livermore Falls.
Brent enjoyed many outdoor activities, skiing, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and sports. Brent had a great love for dogs, always having one by his side.
He is survived by his mother, Robena Gordon of Saco; sons Chad Stone of Mechanic Falls, Travis Libby and wife Emily of Turner; three grandchildren Max, Calee and Cash; sisters Julie Williams and husband Kevin of Portland, Terri Perry of Turner, and Erin Margaret-Libby of Norway, and stepbrother, Jay Sinclair of Lexington, SC.; his nieces and nephews, Justin, Jacoby, Jeremy, Jesse, Kim and Katie; his loving dog Lola; and many great friends in Maine and Florida.
He was predeceased by his father and stepmother, Roger Libby and Emily Libby, stepfather, Stan Gordon and beloved dog Zoey.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sept. 1 at North Turner Cemetery, Howes Corner Road, Turner, Maine. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine 04254. Immediately following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Gathering at the Boofy Quimby Memorial Center, 96 Howes Corner Road, Turner, Maine.
