Raychel Ward of Livermore Falls helps her daughters, Ashliee, 9, left, and Winter, 5, decorate a donation box on Wednesday at the Auburn Mall. Ward leads Girl Scout Troop 1210, which meets weekly at the mall. The troop is collecting hygiene supplies in coordination with Auburn-based Salt & Light Community Center for people without housing. “Kids are often told, ‘This is not your problem, you’re just a kid,'” Ward said. “This gives them an opportunity to help while still feeling safe.” People wishing to donate hygiene supplies can drop them off at Nerdcore in the Auburn Mall or contribute funds directly to Salt & Light through its Facebook page.
