WALES — Authorities released the identity of a teenager killed in a head-on crash with a logging truck on Route 132 on Sunday morning.
Sophie Blomsma, 17, of Lincoln, was driving her 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan when she crossed the centerline and collided with a 2005 Kenworth pulp truck driven by Nathaniel Bell, 49, of Leeds, according to an Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post update.
Blomsma was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bell was not injured.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, the post said.
Wales Fire Department, Maine State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit and Maine Department of Environmental Protection assisted at the scene.
