It’s Ooky it’s Kooky, it’s not too spooky. The Ooky Kooky Magic Show is Fall family fun beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater in Rumford. The event includes a costume contest with the top prize set at a $100 bill.

Longtime local magician Scot Grassette is terrified of spiders and snakes. He is spooked by Count Duckula, Henry the Haunted Hanky, rubber spiders, spring snakes and more. Come help Scot deal with his fears and ensure him they are only for fun and not real. The laughs continue as Scot deals with things that go bump in the night. Will he be able to get through the Halloween season without going completely nuts? Kids and kids at heart will enjoy cheering and jeering him on as he handles each crazy situation he encounters.

This show is appropriate and entertaining for all ages.

Grassette has won several first-place awards including New England Stage Magic competition and Maine’s Comedy Magician. He has performed all over New England including the Society of American Magicians Convention when it was held in Boston.

The show is followed by a costume contest with three $20 prizes for scariest, cutest, most creative, and ends with the announcement of the People’s Choice award of $100.

Theater doors open at 5 p.m. and the full family-friendly pub menu is available for purchase. The Magic Show begins at 6 p.m. with the Costume Contest following at 7 p.m. Scot’s Fun and Magic props will be available for sale after the show.

Tickets are $8 each and are available downtown Rumford at All That Jazz, and online at 49franklin.com. Enter the building on the right side and go to the upper back parking lot entrance.
