FARMINGTON — Keira Adams scored in the fourth quarter to lift the Mt. Blue field hockey team to a big 1-0 victory over Brewer on Thursday.

Morgan Hersey and Grace Allen assisted on Adams’ goal.

Gwen Lesperance made five saves for Mt. Blue (9-4), while Abbie Desrosier had six for the Witches (11-2), who had been at the top of the Class A North Heal point standings.

LEAVITT 3, MCI 0: Addie Twitchell scored the Hornets’ (11-2) first two goals and assisted on the third in their home win over the Huskies (5-7) on senior recognition day in Turner.

Twitchell, one of six Leavitt seniors honored, opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first quarter, then scored again off an assist from fellow senior Izzy Gates in the second.

In the third period, Twitchell set up sophomore Ainsley Barry for a goal.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4, LISBON 0: Adell Pease’s hat trick led the Phoenix (8-5) past the Greyhounds (6-5-1) in Jay.

Pease scored one goal in the third period and two in the fourth. Miley Fournier scored Spruce Mountain’s first goal and assisted on Pease’s first. Alaina Kachnovich also had an assist.

Phoenix goalie Mallory Clark stopped both shots she faced, while Sophie Cote made six saves for Lisbon.

ST. DOMINIC 5, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Emily Andrews’s three-goal performance led the Saints (8-4-1) to a home win over the Hawks (0-6-3) in Auburn.

Chloe Beauchesne and Ava Martin each added a goal for St. Dom’s.

LEWISTON 3, OXFORD HILLS 0: Lauren Cote scored twice to pace the Blue Devils (4-8-1) past the Vikings (1-12) in Lewiston.

Ava Dionne added a goal and an assist, while Chloe Tremblay and Valerie Potvin had an assist each. Lewiston goalie Sarah Mack made four saves.

Gracie Hart scored Oxford Hills’ goal off an assist by Lily Hammond.

GIRLS SOCCER
BUCKFIELD 6, LISBON 0: Cora Brewster scored two goals and assisted on one in the Bucks’ (12-1) victory over the Greyhounds (1-10-1) in Buckfield.

Brittany Carrier and Sophie St. Pierre also netted two goals for Buckfield. Chloee Bennett, Ameila Hill and Kai Trenoweth each contributed an assist.

MADISON 8, TELSTAR 0: Raegan Cowan had four goals and two assists as the Bulldogs won in Madison.

Mackenzie Robbins scored three goals and Ella Hayniev added a goal and an assist.

Allison Tuscan was in net for Madison (9-0), while Andry Saito tended goal for Telstar (1-11-1).

ST. DOMINIC 3, POLAND 0: Gabby Allen’s two first-half goals set the tone in the Saints’ (7-3-2) road victory over the Knights (5-7-1) in Poland.

Charli Apodaca scored St. Dom’s third goal on a direct kick early in the second half.

LEAVITT 3, LAKE REGION 2: Two early first-half goals held up for the Hornets (4-7-2) in their win over the Lakers (4-9) in Turner.

Hunter Milliken earned Leavitt’s first goal when he charged the goalie on a clear, blocked it and the ball ricocheted into the net less than two minutes into the game. Serohzha Bezhenar added a goal about six minutes later, giving the Hornets a 2-0 lead.

Lake Region got one back on a penalty kick by Jacoby Bardsley in the sixth minute of the second half.

Leavitt’s Tyler Mates made it 3-1 with a shot down the middle of the goal with 10:42 remaining. The Lakers again cut the deficit to one goal when Matthew Plummer scored with 7:49 left in the game.
