Lately, former President Donald Trump has been all over the place on issues depending on his audience. On reproductive health, taxation, health care and Project 2025, Mr. Trump has been hard to pin down.
Not so his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, who has been clear from day one that Project 2025 is the blueprint for the government they will form. According to that script, the first orders of business will be national legislation to outlaw abortion, gut the civil service, and round up, jail and ultimately deport 20 to 40 million immigrants, regardless of their legal status.
The necessary administrative state for this is already being put together.
Think Henry VIII and his prime minister, Thomas Cromwell. Henry luxuriated in the pomp and circumstances of a king’s life, while Cromwell held and executed the powers of the crown.
This nightmare may be what we wake up to in Trump/Vance 2025.
