By some estimates, Maine has the highest property tax rates, on average, in the country. Property taxes are used, along with other sources, to pay for K-12 education. According to U.S. News, in 2024 Maine’s K-12 rankings are 50th, out of 50 states.

These two data points don’t make any sense. Why should we pay the highest taxes of any state and get the worst results?

I’m voting for Laurel Libby for state representative. As a mom, she understands that Maine children need access to the best education possible, and she’s working to provide that for our kids. Laurel is committed to prioritizing educational reform and ensuring that our tax dollars are actually helping students succeed.

It’s time for a change in Maine, and I believe she’s the right person to help us turn things around.

I hope people join me in voting to reelect Rep. Laurel Libby.
