DEAR SUN SPOTS: Being the owner of a painting by Gladys Prescott, which is mounted on the wall above my desk, I found the letter from the person seeking information about her paintings an interesting one.

I met Gladys quite a few years ago and purchased one of her paintings for $20. It’s a very interesting one, of a large rocky ledge with a tree on it overlooking the ocean and two seagulls flying over.

It’s not a large painting, measuring 9 inches by 12 inches, which is about the size of all her paintings. — Charles, Auburn

ANSWER: This is a response to a Sun Spots request published on Oct. 10. It’s interesting to me that the painting this Sun Spotter has was purchased for only $20. I’d love to find out if there are any more of Gladys’s oil paintings in the area.
