Chris Patrick Grimmel
AUBURN – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Chris Patrick Grimmel. With his family at his side, he died peacefully Monday, Oct. 21 2024, after a valiant effort to heal from a long illness.
Chris graduated from Lewiston High School in 1987, and later earned his associate degree in accounting. His life was marked by a strong work ethic in hospitality and environmental concerns. He had a passion for an organic lifestyle and enjoyed his gardens, a love for classic 50’s and vintage style, and a true talent for cooking. He often expressed these passions through hosting wonderfully prepared meals delighting friends and family alike.
Chris had a special devotion to his nieces, Margaux and Haley, and his nephews, Garrick and Collin, who could always count on him to bring laughter, fun, and a playful spirit into their lives. His love for the holidays was unmatched; Chris reveled in the joy of decorating and celebrating, always making the season magical for those around him. He was also known for his mischievous side, frequently playing pranks on friends and family, which always left them laughing.
Chris also had a love for antiquing and could often be found exploring antique shops all over Maine, discovering hidden treasures and vintage finds that spoke to his love of history, chivalry, and nostalgia.
Predeceased by his mother, Irene Grimmel, Chris leaves behind his father, James Grimmel, Sr., his three older brothers, Jim Grimmel, Mark Grimmel and Albert Langlois, as well as sister-in-law’s Fawn and Kimberly Grimmel and along with his nieces and nephews Margaux, Haley, Garrick, and Colin Grimmel and Godmother Joan Poulin and Godson Ryan White.
Please join the Grimmel family and friends as they honor Chris’s memory with a Celebration of Life service which will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, with visitation starting at 9:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11 a.m. Visitation and services will be held at The Fortin & Pinette Group located at 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston Maine.
