Josiane L. Duguay
LIVERMORE FALLS – Josiane L. Duguay, 77, died peacefully at her home in Livermore Falls on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, with her daughter and son by her side, following a long illness. Josiane was born on Sept. 13, 1947, in Ciney, Belgium, the daughter of Joseph “Joker” Desjardins and Louisa (Labie) Desjardins. After coming to the states from Belgium at the age of 2, Josiane was raised in the Riley/Livermore area and attended Jay area schools. Josiane, also lovingly known as “Josie” and “Jo” spent her younger years working at a local shoe shop, then resided in Rumford, for many years where she was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and where she continued to raise her family. Josiane was born a natural caregiver with a heart of gold; the greatest devotion of her life was being a mother, especially caring for her son Michael who required specialized care all of his life; this was always one of her greatest priorities. Josiane loved her four children immensely and made every sacrifice possible to ensure their needs were taken care of and that they always knew they were loved beyond measure. Josiane was an avid homemaker; she enjoyed cooking and baking and felt much of her greatest joy from providing care and love for others. She is survived by her son Will Liberty and spouse David Moisan of Richmond, daughter Tammy Liberty of Livermore Falls, Maine, five sisters, Anita Desjardins of Livermore, Christine Lee of Livermore, Therese Atkinson of East Jay, Elaine Doak and husband Tom of Wilton, and Rita Varnum of Lewiston, grand-daughter Megan Beckham and spouse Eric Beckham of Jacksonville, Florida, and three great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Logan and MaKayla of Jacksonville, Florida. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Yvette Longley, son Michael Liberty, and daughter Yvonne Scott. She will be forever missed and cherished by her family and friends. Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
A celebration of life will be held and announced by the family at a later date. Arrangements made by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine 04254.
