Doris Therese Bourget
AUBURN – Doris Therese Bourget, 69, passed away on Oct. 14, 2024, at the Hospice House in Auburn, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease that spanned more than a decade.
She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 13, 1955, to Clarence P. and Irene M. (Gendron) Letourneau. In 1976, Doris married Arthur L. Bourget who lovingly cared for her throughout her 10-year struggle with the disease.
Doris was educated in local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1974. She worked as a bookkeeper at ABC Pools until retiring at the age of 60 due to her illness. She was an active supporter of both the March of Dimes and the Dempsey Challenge, and she enjoyed an active, healthy lifestyle, including working out, biking, hiking, skiing, and running.
Doris is survived by her husband, Arthur; her mother, Irene Letourneau of Auburn; and six brothers, Daniel Letourneau and wife Diane of Lewiston, Gary Letourneau and wife Jane of Manchester, Andrew Letourneau and wife Debra of Colorado, Peter Letourneau and wife Karen of Wales, John Letourneau and wife Michelle of Mechanic Falls, and Scot of Connecticut. She also leaves behind her sister, Debbie and husband James Daigle of Buckfield; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Clarence.
The family would like to express gratitude to her sister, Debbie, and her friend and nurse, Jackie Leask, for their care in her final years, as well as to Andwell Hospice for their compassionate care in her last weeks.

A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held at Albert and Burpee Funeral Home on Friday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m., with visitation starting at 9 a.m., until the time of service.
Arrangements are under the care of Albert and Burpee Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, 782-7201.
