Five splendid bucks were brought back to Lewiston and Auburn by a party of six who just ended their annual camping tour at Eagle Lake.

In the party were Colonel George C. Webber and Dr. Archer Jordan of Auburn; Doctors Wallace E. Webber, J. E. Dupras, W. W. Bolster and Harry Coombs of Lewiston.

The party left here on October 14th and returned Wednesday.

Colonel Webber was the luckiest hunter, bringing home two bucks, one weighing 190 pounds, the other 160. His brother, Dr. Webber, and Harry Coombs were not so lucky for they were the only ones in the party not to bag a deer.

Beautiful weather favored the expedition and they all reported a wonderful time, but reports of partridges were rather scarce.

A party in the next camp to them shot a magnificent bear, but none was seen by this party.

A siren-type burglar alarm frightened thieves away at the Fairlawn Golf Course in East Poland during the night.

The break at the club house was reported this morning by owner Frank Bartasius, and was investigated by Detective Robert Cloutier of the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department. The only thing taken was tools from a garage, apparently needed by the burglars to break into the club house.

Cloutier said the burglars cut a screen leading onto a patio area and then broke glass in a set of double doors and reached inside to open the door.

When the doors opened, it set off a siren type of alarm and it appeared that the burglars fled without gaining further entrance to the property.

Stephen King says writing became such a struggle since he was hit by a van last June that he is uncertain if he will produce another novel, but his wife says she doesn’t think his writing slump will be permanent.

The material used in Looking Back is produced exactly as it originally appeared although misspellings and errors may be corrected.
