AUBURN — A Poland woman escaped injury Wednesday afternoon when her SUV crashed into Roopers Beverage & Redemption store at 545 Minot Ave.,

Janet Fox, 76, was driving her 2010 Honda CRV when she entered a parking space and it accelerated into the building, Auburn police Sgt. Nathan Westleigh said in an email.

A witness at the scene said Fox appeared to be shaken up but did  not appear hurt.

Westleigh confirmed neither Fox nor Roopers employees were injured.

Damage to the building was significant, Westleigh said, but not structural.
