BRIDGTON — The Molly Ockett Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, celebrated their chapter birthday on Oct. 19 at Lakeview Inn in Naples by writing cards to veterans and active duty service members. Daughters of the American Revolution is committed to service to our veterans. We are passionate about acknowledging and recognizing veterans’ service, sacrifice, and commitment to the preservation of our nation’s freedom. For the second year in a row, the Chapter participated in the Holiday Card Challenge for our Military.

The primary goal of Holiday Cards for our Military Challenge is the collection and delivery of personalized, signed expressions of respect, caring, and gratitude to deployed U.S. troops, veterans, and military families. The Chapter continued its commitment to sign 300 or more cards for the challenge. In addition to the aforementioned effort, the group also wrote cards to service members stationed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt.

This year the chapter wrote approximately 550 cards for veterans and active duty service members. After completing writing cards, the Chapter celebrated its fourth birthday with lots of laughter, fellowship, and cheer. The Chapter would like to thank Anthony and Leila Rodriguez of the Lakeview Inn for their hospitality and amazing cake.
