Lunch

OTISFIELD — Otisfield cooks are planning the final Community Lunch of 2024 with a Thanksgiving feast. The traditional menu includes turkey with stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, peas, and cranberry sauce, along with a variety of homemade pies to go with coffee, tea, or apple cider. This all happens on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 11:30 to 12:30 at the Community Hall at 292 Route 121. The meal is free, but we appreciate donations to keep community lunches self-supporting.

The Social Outreach Committee started the community lunches in 2011 to help bring neighbors together, providing a space to socialize and break down social isolation. If you know of someone who might like to get out and have a nice meal, please let them know, or better yet, invite them. Finally, let’s give thanks for the many volunteers who plan, cook, shop, solicit food, set up, wash dishes, and clean up! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!  The next Community Lunch will be on January 15, weather permitting.
