LEWISTON — Police and Central Maine Power crews were on scene Tuesday morning where a tractor-trailer snapped a utility pole on South Avenue.

Police Lt. Derrick St. Laurent said a tractor-trailer from Quebec, Canada, clipped a utility pole near Lisbon Street around 6:13 a.m. Tuesday.

Jenna Gagne of Transport Forestier MBI Inc.  Sainte-Justine, Quebec was turning onto South Avenue from Lisbon Street when she hit the pole, which snapped in three places.

Traffic lights were inoperable for about an hour and a half, St. Laurent said.

The crash remains under investigation, St. Laurent said.
