AUBURN – William C. Carson, 85, of Auburn, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov., 17, 2024, while

surrounded by his loving wife, daughters/spouses, grandchildren/spouses, and great grandchildren.
Bill was born March 10, 1939, in Angola, Indiana, son of Robert E. Carson and Jean (Coleman) Carson. The Carsons moved to North Syracuse, N.Y., during World War II, where Bill received his education. He was a long-distance runner in high school and college. Bill married the love of his life, Patricia Ann LeFevere (Carson) on April 16, 1960.
Bill graduated from Wheaton College, Ill., in 1961, and Conservative Baptist Theological Seminary in Denver, Colo., in 1963. He majored in Christian Education at both. He was ordained at Merrick Baptist Church, Merrick, N.Y., in 1963. He also served at First Baptist Church, Marshalltown, Iowa (1965-1970) and Black Rock Congregational Church, Fairfield, Conn. (1970-1984). He worked with youth a great deal, but always believed spiritual education (SS, VBS and Bible study) was for the whole church. He instituted short term mission trips in the Iowa church in 1967 and continued to do STTs until 2014. He led and participated in about 30 mission trips
Bill’s second career was owning and managing the Bible Bookstore in Auburn (1984-2006). This allowed him to continue his Christian Education in a broader location to multiple churches. Simultaneously, he learned to raise and shear sheep, along with his wife, Pat. He was a shepherd to sheep and pastors.
Bill was a loving husband to “Trish,” Father to Susan Snyder (Richard), Karen Goslin (Paul), and Joy Gray (Dan), Papa to David and Brian Snyder, Darci Davis (Justin), Timothy Boswell (Harmony), Stephen Gray (Maddy), Xazavior Gray, and Great Grandfather to Jason and Eli, Big Brother to Betty Jean Day (David) and Carol Carson, and Uncle to many, many nieces and nephews.
