JAY — The town’s police and public works departments are participating in the Sand for Seniors program.
Employees plan to deliver a bucket of sand/salt for citizens to use on their icy walkways or driveways. Because of insurance restrictions, they cannot spread the sand/salt but will deliver it, according to a news release from Jay Police Department.
Landlords should be supplying their tenants with sand. The program is for senior citizens that are otherwise not able to pick up sand/salt from public works on their own.

Be sure to should plan ahead, since same-day delivery may not always be available.
