To the Editor:
On November 26 at the Bethel Rotary breakfast meeting, the club presented a check to Amy Scott, Program Manager for the Northern Forest Center’s Gehring House project, which is currently in progress here in Bethel. Rotary’s donation represents our club’s belief in the work of the Northern Forest Center, and particularly in the transformation of the Gehring house to a community-serving residential venue complete with green spaces that will connect to the woods and trails beyond.
Just as many area volunteers and supporters do, the Rotarians believe in the vision of the project. We are especially impressed by the planning of the Northern Forest Center designers to create attractively landscaped spaces for future residents and the general public to use recreationally. The intention is to make the entire property an inviting connection between the streets of Bethel and the popular network of the Inland Woods + Trails beyond the property. Rotary is proud to be a small part of this worthy project.
