Donald Schoppe

AUBURN – Donald Schoppe, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2024 at Central Maine Medical Center with family members by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Sept. 13, 1941 to Phyllis and William Schoppe. He had nine brothers and sisters. William Schoppe, Ann Lacourse, Dot Putnum, Timothy Schoppe, Marguerite Tucker, Carol Wutzdorff, Mary Buker, Susan Ferrence and Cathy Hickman.

He graduated from Edward Little then served in the Air Force four years, then joined reserves.

He was a receiver with K-Mart and VIP. He loved fly fishing and would make his own flies. He also loved to hunt but in later years he would just love to watch the deer.

Donald was a member of Tranquil Lodge and was very proud when his nephew was sworn in.

He was predeceased by his mother and father; his brother, William Schoppe, his sisters Mary Buker and Ann Lacourse; and his daughter, Darcy Bosse.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia; his son, Andrew Schoppe and son-in-law, Dan Bossie. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Donald Eaton, Dani Lafean and Lillian Bosse; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Plans for a service will be done at later date.
