MONMOUTH — The Monmouth girls’ basketball team earned a close win over Oak Hill, 38-35, in a Mountain Valley Conference contest on Monday.
Kaitlyn Frost scored a team-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Monmouth (3-1). Maeve Burgess had 15 rebounds to go along with six points, and Peyton McDonald blocked five shots.
Breanna McElhaney led Oak Hill (1-4) with 14 points, including eight free throws, and Mackenzee Wardwell scored seven points.
WINDHAM 49, EDWARD LITTLE 47: The Eagles (2-1) outscored the Red Eddies (2-2) by four points in the fourth quarter to earn a victory in Auburn.
Edward Little took a 38-36 lead into the final period.
Mackenzie Delewski and Stella Jarvais led Windham with 14 points apiece, while Addie Caiazzo and Isabella Vassoler each had nine.
Edward Little’s Rachel Penney scored a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Elizabeth Galway made three 3s and had 11 points, and Layla Facchiano scored 10.
WINTHROP 49, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 28: Ella Rice paced the Ramblers (2-2) past the Falcons (2-2) in Winthrop.
Rice scored a game-high 23 points, highlighted by three 3-pointers. Kylee Mansir added 10 points for Winthrop.
Madison Down led Mountain Valley with six points, while Layce Boucher and Alyvia Theriault each had five points.
DIRIGO 42, LISBON 7: Abby Luczynski hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 14 points to lead the Cougars (2-3) past the Greyhounds (0-3) in Lisbon.
Emma Witas and Emily Woods each added nine points for Dirigo.
Riley Kuietauskas made a 3-pointer for Lisbon.
MARANACOOK 42, MT. ABRAM 30: Celia Bergdahl scored 18 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Black Bears (3-1) to a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Roadrunners (2-1) in Readfield.
Alice Ferran had eight points and eight rebounds, while Gracie Farrell added seven points for Maranacook.
Jany Pepin led Mt. Abram with 13 points, while Bailea Haines added six points.
