LIVERMORE FALLS — A free Christmas day dinner will once again be available on Dec. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at George Bunten American Legion Post 10, 17 Reynolds Ave.

Debbie Breton and Rose Darling are organizing the event. Darling said donations are still needed. “We received some big items but at least one or two more turkeys are needed depending on size. Berry Fruit Farm is donating squash, potatoes have been picked up. Pies and other cookies and treats are needed.”

Those who wish to help may choose to donate money, too, Darling said. Some preparation will be done ahead of time, volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen and dining room, she noted.

Those in the Tri-Town area who would like meals delivered are asked to call ahead with the number of meals requested and address to deliver them to. Darling said delivery reservations are preferred until Dec. 24 and reservations earlier will help ensure there is food enough prepared.

The menu will be turkey and ham with all the fixings and pie for dessert.

Breton will be at the post on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 7:30-9:30 to take donations. Donations may also be dropped off at Riverview Plumbing and Heating, 3 Bridge St. Livermore Falls during office hours.

This meal is for anyone who can’t cook, is alone. or just wants to be with others, Darling said.
