DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a friend with early-onset Alzheimer’s and I took her for a ride this past weekend. She has no family around and I wanted to do something special for her and just get her out of the house.

We ended up at a cozy little breakfast place in Bath and I looked forward to surprising my friend by treating her to brunch. But when I went to the cash register to settle up, I was surprised as well because our server told me that not only had our meal been paid in full but she had received a substantial tip. She followed me over to our table and after I helped my friend put on her coat, the server presented her with one of the beautiful poinsettias displayed in the window.

It was such a beautiful gesture and the whole morning just filled us with joy. Thank you to all the people we encountered who shared their light and love.–Dot, no town
