DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have an email address with Consolidated Communications, but I have not been able to use it since Friday, Dec. 20.
I have called the number on my bill (1-844-968-7224) five times, but all I am told to do is to try to use a different website. I also tried calling 1-800-240-5019, but I get the same person. Does anyone know if there is a problem with Consolidated Communications email?
I started another email with a Gmail account but all my doctors and the hospital have the other Consolidated Communications email. I really hate to have to change everything. Can you help or give me any suggestions? — No name, Wales
ANSWER: Go to www.consolidated.com/support/residential-support. You will be able to scroll to “residential service” where you can get some help with troubleshooting your issue as well as contact information. I know it’s very frustrating to not be able to get help over the phone and talk with a real person but reality these days includes having to go to the web site and see what other options are available.
If you can’t access your Consolidated email account, it’s likely because either you entered your password incorrectly, your internet service has been terminated, or there might be a temporary outage affecting their email servers. Try resetting your password and checking your service status including making sure your payment is current.
If any Consolidated Communications customers have advice for this reader, please chime in, sending good vibes and helpful tips only.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to give two thumbs-up to the extra kind man who paid for my meal at Grant’s Bakery in Lewiston on Friday afternoon, Dec. 27.
I did not have any Christmas food but this will be enough for three days. Thank you so much. — No name, Lewiston
ANSWER: I am glad for you and yes, this man was very kind. This is what is important, dear readers. Keep it going whenever you can.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I also went to Applebee’s three times during the week of Dec. 9. The place seemed closed, with no cars in the parking lot and the doors were locked. All three times that I was there, it was after 1 p.m. — No name, Turner
ANSWER: This letter is regarding another letter I received Dec. 17 about Applebee’s being closed during its posted business hours. I have spoken with one of the managers at the restaurant who said the restaurant is open, that and that the hours are correct on the website (https://restaurants.applebees.com/en-us/me/auburn/599-center-street). They are listed as 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday, the restaurant is open until 1 a.m. I only have what this manager told me to go on so I advise you to call ahead. The phone number is 207-784-3986.
