The Thomas E. Lahey Foundation recently awarded scholarships to 10 outstanding scholar-athletes and recent graduates of Lewiston High School, Edward Little High School and St. Dominic Academy.
This year’s recipients are: Ava Blanchette, a graduate of Lewiston High School, attending the University of Connecticut and the daughter of Jessica Blanchette and Jared Jalbert of Lewiston; Madeline Cote, a graduate of Lewiston High School, attending the University of Southern Maine and the daughter of Scott Cote of Lewiston and Sarah Cote of Litchfield; Olivia Crowley, a graduate of Lewiston High School, attending the University of New Hampshire and the daughter of Michelle Crowley of Sabattus and Joshua Crowley of Auburn.
Also, Payson Goyette, a graduate of Lewiston High School, attending Bentley University and the son of Nicolle and Daniel Goyette of Lewiston; Connor Cyr, a graduate of St. Dominic Academy, attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the son of Scott and Jennifer Cyr of Minot; Anna Geyser-Shaheen, a graduate of St. Dominic Academy, attending the University of New Hampshire and the daughter of Claudia Geyser and Brian Shaheen of Durham; Kaelyn Langlois, a graduate of Edward Little High School, attending the University of Maine, Orono and the daughter of Bob and Jolene Langlois of Auburn.
Also, Camren Dufour, a graduate of Edward Little High School, attending Husson University and the son of Jay and Mauri Dufour of Auburn; Katharine Garcia, a graduate of Edward Little High School, attending the University of Maine, Orono and the daughter of Laura and Adam Garcia of Auburn; and Micah Joler, a graduate of Edward Little High School, attending Northwestern University and the daughter of Kim and Kevin Joler of Auburn.
The foundation’s mission is to assist local youth in their pursuit of further education. Its main fundraising efforts have included private donations, a golf tournament and a bowling tournament.
A bowling tournament is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Just In Time Bowling Center, 24 Mollison Way in Lewiston. All proceeds will be donated to the center on behalf of the participants and the Lahey Foundation.
