Elizabeth Galway’s 16 points paced the Edward Little girls basketball team to a 48-34 win over Westbrook on Friday in Westbrook.
The Red Eddies, who have one six straight games, also got 11 points from Layla Facchiano and 10 from Rachel Penny, who made three 3-pointers.
Kylie Young led Westbrook with eight points.
HALL-DALE 45, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 43: The short-handed Bulldogs (10-3) held off the Falcons (7-7) in Farmingdale.
Marie Benoit’s 17 points paced Hall-Dale, which is missing key players and played only six in Friday’s contest. Sierra Gibbons made two 3-pointers and shot 5 of 5 at the free-throw line while scoring 15 points, and Gabby Russell added 13 points.
Alyvia Theriault drained four 3s and scored a team-high 17 points for Mountain Valley. Madison Dow and Ali Mazza (three 3s) each finished with nine points.
OXFORD HILLS 50, CHEVERUS 29: The Vikings outscored the Stags 34-15 in the second half to earn a convincing victory in a showdown of Class AA powerhouses in Paris.
Oxford Hills’ (11-2) Ella Pelletier scored 11 points in the first half and 10 in the second for a game-high 21 points. Gabbie Tibbetts scored all 11 of her points after halftime.
Kylie Lamson topped Cheverus (8-4) with 14 points.
ST. DOMINIC 40, TRAIP ACADEMY 37: Charli Apodaca scored 16 points to lead the Saints (8-4) over the Rangers (6-8) in Auburn.
Piper Croteau and Sage Yarnevich added each points apiece to for St. Dom’s.
Lilly Stuart topped Traip with 14 points, and Avery Bouffard had eight.
MT. VIEW 57, LEAVITT 36: Arianna Bradeen had 23 points to lead the Mustangs (11-3) past the Hornets (8-4) in Turner.
Savannah Lorenz added 12 points for Mt. View.
Caitlyn McCoy had 11 points for Leavitt, and Gabby Smith scored nine points.
MADISON 51, WINTHROP 41: Mackenzie Robbins scored 20 points to lift the Bulldogs (7-3) past the Ramblers (10-4) in Winthrop.
Raegan Cowan and Liz Kelly each had 12 points for Madison.
Ella Rice led Winthrop with 17 points and Madeline Wagner had 12.
BOYS BASKETBALL
CHEVERUS 70, OXFORD HILLS 45: Shema Rwaganje and Leo McNabb combined for 15 points during a 24-7 run in the third quarter as the Stags (10-2) broke open a close game against the Vikings (6-7) in Portland.
Rwaganje finished with 26 points, while McNabb and Nicola Plalum each had 13.
Cheverus led 31-27 at halftime.
Carter Holbrook and Brayden Murch each scored eight points for Oxford Hills.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 67, MT. ARARAT 56: Quintin Warrick hit two of his three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Patriots (4-10) overcome the Eagles (2-9) in Gray.
Gray-New Gloucester entered the final period trailing 49-45, but outscored Mt. Ararat 22-7 over the final eight minutes.
Warrick also made a trey in the second quarter and finished with nine points. Colby Mitchell, who hit three 3s, put up a game-high 25 points. John Patenaude added 17 and Isaiah Portas had 11.
Logan Zoulalmis (three 3s) scored 16 points to lead Mt. Ararat. Andrew Clemons (four 3s) had 14 points and Logan Dubuc (two 3s) had 10. The Eagles, as a team, made 13 3-pointers.
ST. DOMINIC 55, TRAIP ACADEMY 27: Taylor Varney scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out six assists as the Saints took down the Rangers in Auburn.
Half of Varney’s points came at the free-throw line, where he made 10 of 13 attempts. Jack Brocke hit three 3-pointers and contributed 11 points for St. Dom’s (11-1).
Jack Downs led Traip (4-10) with 12 points.
LEAVITT 54, MT. VIEW 43: Sophomores Colin Schlobohm and Jacob Gibbs led the charge as the Hornets (6-6) went to Thorndike and tamed the Mustangs (7-7).
Schlobohm scored a game-best 26 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Gibbs had 17 points, four assists and four steals.
Stuart Knowlton scored 16 points and Wyatt Bennett (three 3-pointers) added 14 for Mount View.
YARMOUTH 46, POLAND 40: A balanced scoring attack propelled the Clippers (8-4) past the Knights (7-4) in Yarmouth.
Adam Maxwell (11 points), Torrey Rogers (10), Robert Wolff (10) and Evan Oranellas (nine) combined to scored 40 of Yarmouth’s 46 points.
Poland freshman Jake Jamo topped all scorers with 19 points. Damon Martin added 11 and Nick Jamo had eight for the Knights.
EDWARD LITTLE 48, WESTBROOK 47: Diing Maiwen scored nine of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Red Eddies (7-6) held off the Blue Blazes (1-11) in Auburn.
Akol Maiwen added 15 points.
Moses Semuhoza led Westbrook with 20 points, while John Cubahiro scored 12.
