LEWISTON — The University of Maine at Augusta’s Lewiston Center is set to offer a series of digital literacy workshops in partnership with the National Digital Equity Center at the university’s Lewiston-Auburn Campus, 51 Westminster St.

• Learning About Devices 11 a.m. to noon, Monday, Feb. 10. Participants can learn about the wide variety of devices, from the servers that receive, store and transmit our data, all the way to tablets, smartphones and wearable devices.

• A three-day iPad Intermediate class will start Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This course builds on the skills that are acquired in the iPad/iPhone Basics class. The primary focus of the class is the exploration of the applications that Apple provides for free as part of the iOS. Applications such as Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Messages and FaceTime will be covered.

• Videoconferencing with Healthcare Providers, Family and Friends, 1 p.m. Monday, March 3. There are several options for speaking face to face with family, friends or coworkers over a device connected to the internet. This class will look at some of the most popular options, including Zoom.

• Identifying Frauds and Scams, 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18. Learn about the different types of internet fraud and scams, the dos and don’ts of protecting oneself online and what to do if one has experienced online fraud or abuse.
