NORWAY — Western Foothills Land Trust is scheduled to host the 15th annual Norway Snowshoe Festival on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Roberts Farm Preserve, 58 Roberts Road.
The festival will feature a variety of races, activities for all ages, and the second annual Norway Chili Contest.
The schedule of events includes:
• 2K, 5K and 10K Snowshoe Races at 10 a.m.
• Chili and beer tents from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Snowshoe Race award ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
• Live music and children’s games from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Winners of the judged portion of the chili contest announced at 12:30 p.m.
• Snowshoe Fashion Show with prizes in the categories of vintage, high fashion and handmade at 1 p.m.; winners announced at 1:30 p.m.
• People’s Choice award for best chili announced at 2:30 p.m.
Registration for the race costs $5 for children and students, and $15 for adults. Registration is encouraged; visit wfltmaine.org.
The festival also includes a variety of activities and events for spectators and visitors, including children’s games. Snowshoes are available at the Roberts Farm Warming Hut. Trails will be open during or after the festivities, with Nordic ski gear available to rent for free from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
