As a restaurateur, Paul displayed his passion for hospitality and culinary artistry at both of his restaurants. Paul’s love for cooking extended to his personal life, where he delighted in treating his friends and family to his latest culinary creation, fostering warmth and camaraderie through breaking bread.

Paul had a deep love for music, which included his passion for collecting guitars. Playing with friends and for family, Paul brought people together in joy and celebration. Music was another tool Paul used to create precious moments for those around him to cherish.

At the core of Paul was the kindest and softest heart. His honesty and trustworthiness were unparalleled, and he always acted in others’ best interests. He had a remarkable ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. In Costa Rica, despite language barriers, he formed deep friendships and found love. His friends at The Seagull Tavern, his “watering hole,” even added a special space for Paul and his friends to gather, exemplifying the impact he had on those around him.

He is survived by his brothers Timothy Ian Cornish and Theodore Frederick Cornish; his nephews, Dmitri Urion Diggs and Samuel Elías Cornish and his beloved girlfriend Yorleny Araya Arguedas. Paul was a proud uncle to Samuel, always boasting about Samuel’s accomplishments.
