AUBURN — Auditions for the Community Little Theatre and LinCo Media joint production of “Keep Singing!” are set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 18 and 19, at the 30 Academy St. theater.
Written by local creative duo Linda Hildonen and Colby Michuad, “Keep Singing!” is a showcase of three short musicals. The first, “It’s Complicated,” is a 15-20 minute musical “dramedy” about a couple who are coaxed into singing about their marital difficulties by a therapist with a very special guitar. “Chasing James” is a 45-50 minute comedy about a coffee shop owner who tries to get his love-addled best friend to make a change for the better.
Finally, “Home Again” is a 20-25 minute drama about a woman who must face a difficult decision about whether to leave her father, who is suffering from dementia, behind as she pursues her dreams, according to a news release from Hildonen.
The first production of “Keep Singing!” played three sold-out performances at “The Playhouse” in Yarmouth in 2023. This production will be a fundraiser for CLT, and will have six performances in the first two weekends of June.
Character descriptions are available at laclt.com. Auditioners should prepare a song to showcase their vocal range, a short monologue or two, and be ready to do readings. The production is also actively seeking crew members.
