LEWISTON — The Trinity Jubilee Center has received $30,000 from the Maine Family Federal Credit Union to support the installation of a walk-in freezer in its building under construction at 123 Bates St.
The center provides services like hot meals, groceries, a day shelter and employment assistance to vulnerable populations in the Lewiston-Auburn area. The freezer will enable the organization’s soup kitchen and food pantry to increase their food storage capacity, reduce waste and better respond to the growing demand for its programs, according to a news release from Erin Reed, the center’s executive director.
The new building is slated to open this year.
