Daniel Michael Larochelle

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – Daniel Michael Larochelle of South Australia passed away peacefully on Feb. 7, 2025 at the age of 72.

Daniel was born on April 16, 1953, to Roland and Marie (Dube) Larochelle in Lewiston, and was educated in Lewiston schools. For several years he was the proprietor of Carrie’s Restaurant (later Kate’s Kitchen) in Lewiston. He will also be remembered fondly as a staff member at Spurwink, and as a lively and spirited person with a passion for engaging in a good discussion or debate with anyone.

Daniel was a Lewiston resident for several years, where he became the father of two children, Jeffrey and Carrie, with former wife, Sandra Normand Larochelle.

An avid hockey player and motorcyclist, Daniel loved playing goalie and riding his Harley Davidson. He also had a passion for theology and psychology.

Later in life, Daniel met his wife, Liberty, and would call South Australia home for the next 24 years of his life.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Liberty Larochelle; both of his children; grandson, Mayson Larochelle; sisters and brothers Rachel Larochelle Olds, William Larochelle and Carol Larochelle Bilodeau; several nieces and nephews; and a large extended family in Australia.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Marie Larochelle.
