Caroline Dotsey scored with two seconds left to lift the Maine women’s basketball team to a 54-53 win over Binghamton in an America East game on Saturday in Orono.

The Black Bears pulled within one when Asta Blauenfeldt made two foul shots with nine seconds left. The Bearcats then missed the front end of 1-and-1 on two straight possessions, giving Maine possession with four seconds left. Dotsey gave Maine the lead with a layup, and Binghamton’s Bella Pucci missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Sera Hodgson scored 12 points for Maine (13-14, 8-6 America East), which snapped a four-game losing streak. Blauenfeldt added 11 points, while Caroline Bornemann had 10 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Jayden Weltz scored 13 points and Kaia Goode added 10 for Binghamton (14-14, 6-8).

COLBY 100, MIDDLEBURY 97: Amelia Hanscom broke a 97-all tie on a layup with 26 seconds left in the second overtime and the second-seeded Mules (14-10) advanced with a win over the seventh-seeded Panthers (15-10) in Waterville.

Kate Olenik led Colby with 29 points, while Ana Von Rumohr followed with 24 and Hanscom with 20. Chelsea Ibenegbu (14 points) and Lydia Mordarski (13) were Colby’s other double-digit scorers.

BOWDOIN 61, MIDDLEBURY 51: Annie McCarthy scored 17 points to lead the fourth-seeded Mammoths (19-6) over the fifth-seeded Bobcats (16-9) in Amherst, Massachusetts.

Andrea Long had 18 points, Elsa Daulerio added 12 and Sophie Spolter finished with 10 for Bates.

After trailing most of the game, the Bobcats took the lead, 48-47, on a layup by Long with 4:53 left, but were held scoreless until Danielle Adams made a 3-pointer in the closing seconds.

Bowdoin, will host the conference semifinals and final beginning next Saturday against Amherst at 2 p.m. Colby and No. 3 Trinity, who beat Tufts 72-64 in double-overtime, will play in the other semifinal at 4:30 p.m. The final will be at noon on Sunday.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

SALVE REGINA 2, SOUTHERN MAINE 0: Ashtyn Bringardner and Emily Wroblewski scored, Taylor Hannafan stopped 17 shots and the third-seeded Seahawks (17-9) shutout the sixth-seeded Huskies (11-13-2) in a New England Hockey Conference Tournament quarterfinal in Middletown, Rhode Island.
