DEAR SUN SPOTS: In answer to the reader asking where to donate soda can pop tops (Sun Spots, Feb. 21), donations of soda can tabs can be made locally to Kora Shrine Center at 11 Sabattus St. in Lewiston.

Depending on where they live, someone could possibly pick them up and bring them to Kora Shrine.—Rosemary, no town

ANSWER: Thank you for letting us know about this!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read in the Feb. 21 Sun Spots about the reader looking for a cat. I would like to cover up to $100 to $125 of the adoption fees for a cat for these folks.

If they go to the animal shelter and complete the paperwork, I will arrange to pay the shelter directly after I know which shelter they are using.

I just want another shelter kitty to have a fur-ever home, and truly understand the heartbreak of putting a cat down.—No name, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thanks for printing my Weight Watchers inquiry (Sun Spots, Feb. 14) and for the wonderful surprise response from Susan in the Febr. 20 Sun Spots informing us of a TOPS morning meeting on Tuesdays at Grace Lutheran Church. Barring a blizzard, I plan to be there. I’m looking forward to meeting you, Susan.

I can always depend on you, Sun Spots and your faithful readership.—No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: It heartens me to know that Sun Spots informs, connects, and helps people feel less alone in the world. I’m here when you need me!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: First, I would like to thank Sun Spots for all your assistance over the years.

Second, I would like to say thank you very much to my neighbor who has cleared my driveway and ramp. I have been dealing with things since my husband’s accident when he broke his back.

I have employed a very nice young man to plow my driveway but when he came to plow, the work had already been done by my Good Samaritan. There are good people living in your own neighborhood.—Liz, no town

ANSWER: I’m so glad to hear that you have folks to help you, Liz. I, too, had a Good Samaritan come along and help me get dug out from the latest round of storms. I gave him a packet of homemade cookies in exchange and you would have thought I’d handed him $100. He was so excited to take them home to share with his little daughter.

Friends, I’m asking you to look for ways to help your neighbors. Kindness matters.
