It is egregious that the United States delegation to the United Nations voted against a resolution condemning Russia for its aggression in Ukraine and calling for Russia to end its occupation.
How can this be interpreted any other way than Donald Trump siding with Vladimir Putin rather than our European allies?
In addition to this week’s United Nations vote, Trump defies our country’s laws and shows contempt for the courts and our Constitution. He will continue unchecked until Sen. Susan Collins and Republicans have the courage and conviction to stand up to him.
Where will our country be a year from now if Congress fails to take bold and decisive action to reassert and reestablish the balance of power between the three branches of the federal government? The possibilities are frightening to contemplate.
The Greatest Generation stood up to tyranny and fought and died for our democracy in World War II. Who will stand up for democracy today?
Will Susan Collins do so?
