ANSWER: Livin’ It Up Line Dancing with Rosa Storer is starting this week through Lewiston Adult Education. The 6-7 p.m. class at 145 Birch St. runs on Thursdays from March 6 to April 10 and costs $39. Sign up here: https://lewiston.maineadulted.org/course/ or call 784-2928.

This class happens on Wednesday, March 12, from 6:30-8 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the cost is $10.

Ararat Middle School at 66 Republic Ave. in Topsham on Saturday, March 29, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This Folk Music & Dance Festival will celebrate its 35th year. This celebration includes New England contra dancing all day long as well as song sessions, English and Scottish country dancing, waltz, swing, and belly dance workshops, Tai Chi and Chinese dance workshops, international folk dancing, Scandinavian, Irish, and Quebecois music, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin workshops, jam sessions, and more.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: As Pi Day approaches, Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (“Green Church”) at 163 Main St., will celebrate with a sale of homemade pies Saturday, March 8, from 3-5 p.m.

Preorders will be taken for 9-inch apple, chocolate cream, and blueberry pies at $15 each. Please call the church phone at 364-8603, wait for the beep, and leave your name, phone number, and tell us your choice of pie. Pickup will be in the dining room, which is accessible from the Mitchell Street entrances.

Other varieties of  pie may be available at the sale, including single slices at $3 each. Coffee and tea will be offered for those who would like to sit, enjoy a slice of pie, and have a chat. — Carol, no town
