Gregg Lewis Inman
LEWISTON – Gregg Lewis Inman passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, surrounded by his family. Gregg was born in Norway on Dec. 26, 1957, the son of Milton and Eleanor Inman.
He attended West Paris Elementary and graduated from Oxford Hills High School proudly wearing red, white and blue in 1976. While in high school Gregg participated in band and was a member of the ski team, where he earned the distinction of State Ski Meister. It was in high school that Gregg met the love of his life Dixie. Shortly after Dixie’s graduation in 1978 they were married. They recently celebrated 47 loving years of marriage. Together Gregg and Dixie created a loving home for their daughters Audrey and Abby.
Gregg held many jobs through the years of his employment, but much of his career was spent working for Maine Department of Transportation. He took great pride in his work no matter the season or the time of year. He retired in 2018 after completing 35 years of service for the Maine Department of Transportation. He also worked at Fryeburg Fair Trackside Camping for 18 years, with Dixie working along his side for 10 of those years. Together they enjoyed meeting people from near and far. During his life Gregg was an active member of the West Paris Fire Department and served on the West Paris Water District.
Gregg was a jack of all trades and a master of many projects. If something was broken, he would be the one to fix it. Gregg had a love for all things racing, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but what he enjoyed the most was sitting around the campfire with his friends and family. Gregg’s greatest pride was his family. His infectious smile, sense of humor, and the kind words he offered to others, is what made him a friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife Dixie; daughter Audrey and son-in-law Allen Gray, their children Caiden, Carley, Cara, Carson, Caleb, Caisy, Abram and Mila; daughter Abby and son-in-law David Vaughn and their children Mikaylah, Nolan, Carleigh and Jacob; great grandson Daxton; brother Gary Inman, wife Lesley Rowse and their children Caili and Ani; sister-in-law Diane Peet, husband Michael and their children, Cassandra and his favorite niece Amy R Mains, husband Zachary and their daughter Elizabeth; brother-in-law Paul Komulainen, wife Debbie and their children, Paul, Zachary and Allison. Gregg also leaves behind special friends Elaine Newell, John and Cindy Perkins.
Gregg was predeceased by his parents Milton and Eleanor (Proctor) Inman; and his grandson Callan.
