Wyllum Deveaux tied the game with 1:19 left in regulation, and Christian Sarlo got the winner in overtime as the Maine Mariners rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Reading Royals in an ECHL game Friday night at Cross Insurance Arena.
The game was scoreless until Reading’s Mitch Deelstra got his first professional goal with exactly two minutes remaining in regulation.
Maine then pulled goalie Brad Arvanitis for an extra attacker, and Deveaux tied it with his 13th goal of the season.
Sarlo’s goal, his 11th of the season, came 3:19 into overtime.
Arvanitis finished with 33 saves. Reading’s Vinnie Purpura stopped 40 shots.
