Ann-Marie (LaCombe) Ellis

MENOMONIE, Wis. – Ann-Marie (LaCombe) Ellis, 72, of Menomonie, Wis., formerly of Rangeley, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on March 5, 2025.

Ann-Marie was born Aug. 24, 1952 to William and Clara LaCombe in Putnam, Conn. and raised in Danielson, Conn. Ann moved to New Hampshire for several years before moving to Rangeley where she met and married Hal Ellis. After 25 years, they moved to Wisconsin to be near her sister, Cathy, and sister-in-law, Julie.

Ann-Marie is survived by sisters Jan Bessette of Connecticut and Cathy LaCombe (Julie Ulberg) and Hal Ellis all of Menomonie, Wis.; niece, Lisa (Jeff) Heidtmann, nephew, Jeff Diaz all from Connecticut; great-nephews Nate (Samantha) Maclure, Matthew Maclure and great-great-nephew, Dean, all from Maine; and special friends Robin Guy (Lee) and Deanie Haley of Maine and Lynn Putney of New Hampshire, and many other friends and relatives; and her rescue dog, Emmet.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Don Bessette; and nephew, James Diaz; and her beloved dog, Sam.

Our special thanks go out to St. Croix Hospice and Olson’s Funeral Home for their care and services.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, Wis. with Chaplain Bonnie Geurkink officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A light lunch will follow the service.
