AUBURN — Outdoor recreation at Lost Valley is about to expand, thanks to a $10,000 donation from Moving ME Forward to kickstart the Lost Valley Trail Network initiative.
This community-driven project, spearheaded by Bob Brainerd of Central Maine Conditioning Clinic, aims to enhance year-round accessibility for athletes, families and outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities.
The trail network will introduce a certified 5K and 8K trail system designed for cross-country training, races and multi-use activities, such as hiking, biking, skiing and snowshoeing.
Plans also include fitness stations and expanded trail options for various skill levels, according to a news release from Travis Dow, assistant general manager and marketing manager.
The project relies on community support, with organizers seeking donations, volunteers and sponsorships to fund materials, equipment and ongoing development.
