Phillip W. Hood Sr.

LEWISTON – Phillip W. Hood, Sr., 91, a resident of Leeds, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 9, 2025, at St. Mary’s D’Youville Pavilion surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 26, 1933, in Livermore Falls, the son of Augustus “Gus” and Cora (Goding) Hood. He attended Livermore Falls High School. On June 27, 1952, he married Joyce Keene of Canton. Phil worked as a truck driver throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed camping and fishing.

He is survived by his children, Suzanne Nickerson of Maryland, Lori Hood of New York, Karen Jennings (Rick) of Leeds, Caralynne Guimond of Leeds, Amy Hood of Georgia, Dennis Hood (Yen) of Georgia and Phillip Hood, Jr. of Livermore; 13 grandchildren, Anna-Laurie, Jasmine, Jason, Sara, Casey, Normand, Nicole, Craig, Floyd, Tanya, Jagger, Jenna and CJ; and 11 great-grandchildren, Kai, Andi, Zachary, Spenser, Henry, Willa, Joseph, Evelyn, Ethan, Sarah and Michael; brother, Richard Hood of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Joyce; daughter, Ginette Hood; infant granddaughter, Tara Hood; son-in-law, Norman Guimond, daughter-in-law, Linda Hood; siblings, Janet Mitchell, Gus Hood, and George Hood.

The family would like to thank the staff at D’Youville for the wonderful care Phil received and how comforting it was that they treated him like a member of their family.
