Western Maine Transportation Services and Maine Department of Transportation have launched a three-month test for bus service between Lewiston and Oxford Hills.

The Goldline Commuter bus service runs three times a day between Lewiston and Oxford Hills.

The Goldline commuter route runs three times a day, Monday through Friday, with stops in Auburn, Mechanic Falls, Oxford, South Paris and Norway.

The westward morning run starts at 4:40 a.m. at the Oak Street Bus Station in Lewiston and Great Falls Bus Station in Auburn, provides two stops in Mechanic Falls and continues as far as KBS Builders in South Paris before reaching its final Oxford Hills stop at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital in Norway at 6 a.m. From Stephens, it returns to Lewiston at 6:56 a.m.

The midday run leaves Lewiston at 10:30 a.m., reaches Stephens at 11:45 a.m. and returns to Lewiston at 12:45 p.m.

The westward afternoon run departs Oak Street in Lewiston at 2:05 p.m. It reaches Stephens at 3:25 p.m. and returns to Oak Street by 4:21 p.m.

Regular stops in Oxford Hills include Oxford Casino and Walmart in Oxford; KBS Builders in South Paris; and New Balance and the hospital in Norway.

Request stops can be made for other locations along the route through the three towns but patrons must call 800-393-9335 at least one business day in advance.

Fares vary between $2-$3 and can be paid using cash or Token Transit.

The bus can accommodate up to two wheelchairs or bicycles, with some size constraints.
