Paris has a busy month ahead, offering a variety of activities, leadership opportunities, and services for residents of all ages. Here’s what’s happening:
Upcoming Events & Activities:
• Toddler & Beginner Yoga Classes. Toddler Yoga with Three-Eyed Raven – Now on Mondays from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Paris Fire Station for children ages 2-6. Cost: $8 for the first child, $5 for siblings. Beginner Yoga for All Ages – Mondays from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Paris Fire Station. Cost: $10 per participant.
• Family Movie Night: Peter Rabbit – March 29 at 6 p.m. – Enjoy a free screening of Peter Rabbit, hosted by Paris Parks & Recreation in partnership with Oxford Federal Credit Union. Complimentary popcorn and treats will be provided – bring a blanket for a cozy evening at the Paris Fire Station.
• Dog Training: Obedience Through Agility – HeartSong Kennel offers obedience and agility training every Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Paris Fire Station. Cost: $25 per session or $90 for four classes.
• Paris Vendor Fair Returns – Support local businesses at the Paris Vendor Fair on April 27 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Paris Fire Station. Vendor tables are $10, and young entrepreneurs can participate for free.
• Community Roast Turkey Dinner – Join the Paris Fire Department Auxiliary for a Roast Turkey Dinner on April 5 at the Paris Fire Station. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., dinner served at 5 p.m. Tickets: $9 for adults, $5 for children (ages 4-12), and free for kids 3 and under.
Community Involvement & Leadership
• Join the Ad-Hoc Committee – Interested in financial oversight of MSAD 17? Join the Town of Paris Ad-Hoc Committee, which reviews the school district’s budget and bidding processes. Applications are available at www.parismaine.org.
• Run for Local Leadership Positions – Paris is seeking candidates for: two Selectmen positions, one MSAD 17 School Board Member, and one PUD Director (each serving a three-year term). Nomination papers are available at the Town Office and must be submitted by April 11. Elections will be held June 10 at the Paris Fire Station. Absentee ballots will be available from May 12 – June 5 at the Paris Town Office.
• Volunteers are also needed for: two full-member seats on the Appeals Board, and one seat on the NPC-TV Board. Applications are available online.
Local Services & Notices:
New Commuter Bus Service – Western Maine Transportation Services has launched the GoldLine L~A – Norway/South Paris commuter bus pilot program. It will operate Monday – Friday with three round-trips daily between Lewiston-Auburn and Norway/South Paris. There will be an evening service from 4 – 8 p.m. The pilot program will run March 3 – May 30. Riders are encouraged to provide feedback at 800-393-9335, and schedule updates can be found on the Western Maine Transportation Facebook page.
Property Tax Fairness Credit: Paris residents who own or rent property may qualify for the Property Tax Fairness Credit. More information is available at www.maine.gov/revenue/taxes/tax-relief-credits-programs/income-tax-credits/property-tax-fairness-credit
Town-Wide Property Revaluation: Beginning in September 2025, the Assessor’s Office will conduct a full revaluation of all properties over a four-year phased approach, concluding in 2029. The last revaluation was in 2014, and this process ensures fair and equitable property tax assessments. Questions? Contact the Town Manager or Assessor.
Planning a building project? Before starting any construction this spring, schedule a meeting with Code Enforcement Officer Chris Summers at the Paris Town Office to ensure compliance and avoid costly mistakes.
Thinking about solar panels? If you already have or are considering installing solar panels, contact the Code Enforcement Office or Assessor for guidance.

The following roads have a weight limit of 23,000 pounds (10 tons) until May 15, unless lifted earlier by the Town of Paris:
