Hayden Brown scored the go-ahead goal with 8:56 remaining, and the Maine Gladiators reached the championship game of USA Hockey’s 18U Tier II national championships with a 6-4 semifinal win Saturday afternoon against the Oregon Selects in Utica, New York.

Dylan Blue scored Maine’s first two goals, and Breck Langevin had a goal and two assists, which a clinching empty-net goal. Alex Gadbois and Andrew Clements were the other goal scorers for the Mariners, who will face the Idaho Jr. Steelheads at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Gladiators (4-0) beat Idaho (3-1) in pool play, 3-2 on Friday.

Maine goalie Tristan Bourassa made 29 saves.

GIRLS 14U

BOSTON JR. EAGLES 3, CASCO BAY MARINERS 2: Leah Carlson broke a 2-2 tie early in the second period, lifting Boston to a semifinal win in Coral Springs, Florida.

Logan Curry and Aida Laliberte scored for Casco Bay in the first period.

Earlier in the day, Reese Weaver scored four goals to lead the Mariners to a 5-1 quarterfinal victory over the Valley Jr. Warriors.

Lydia Trytek also scored for Casco Bay, while Alana Wheeler made 18 saves.

BOYS 14U

OGDEN JR. MUSTANGS 5, CASCO BAY MARINERS 4: Brooks Milliron scored in overtime as the Mustangs rallied to beat the Mariners in a quarterfinal in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Casco Bay led 4-2 after first-period goals by Cameron Bourque and Patrick Guite, and second-period goals by Kason Letarte and William Grabarz. Ogden’s Krew Kreigen scored a short-handed goal late in the second, and his third goal of the game tied it in the third period.

Teague Halsted stopped 11 shots for Casco Bay.
