We had many correct answers for last week’s Mystery Photo of the former Sun Journal office building at the corner of Park and Pine streets in Lewiston. The building was initially constructed as a bank and also housed the chamber of commerce. The building was built on the footprint of the iconic DeWitt Hotel. It was a top-of-the-line hotel, built in 1854 and demolished in 1965. The concrete building has been vacant since the Sun Journal moved out and is scheduled to be demolished this month to make room for the new 104-unit DeWitt housing development. In a random drawing from all correct entries, Bruce Haley of Minot was chosen as the winner of a $25 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
