Seneca Club

PARIS — The Seneca Club, Friends’ Group for Paris Public Library, is meeting on Wednesday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. at the Deering Memorial Community Center. The group will be discussing last year’s accomplishments and preparing for the upcoming year. Last year, the Seneca Club purchased supplies for the library’s Family Craft nights, paid library’s membership fee to the Maine Download Library (which uses the CloudLibrary App), acquired a family pass to the Maine Mineral and Gem Museum in Bethel, supported the library’s Summer Reading Challenge and provided flowering plants for the library’s entrances. Also at the meeting, members will have an opportunity to review the Karen Ellis Room, a recently renovated area in the Deering Memorial Community Center, dedicated to Mrs. Ellis, who served on the Paris Public Library’s Board and re-instituted the Seneca Club. Mrs. Ellis was an elementary school teacher for many years and was very active in the Oxford Hills community. The Seneca Club donated $5,000 towards the room’s repairs in memory of Mrs. Ellis.

All are welcome to join the Seneca Club and attend the meeting. For more information, please contact the Paris Public Library by calling 207-743-6994 or email [email protected].
